About

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.  Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.  Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.

– 1 Peter 2:9-11

about the name...

The term “third-culture kid” is used to define children who are “raised in a culture other than their parents’ or the culture of their country of nationality for a significant part of their early development years.” This means that a “third-culture kid” learns their TRUE heritage – not by the surrounding culture – but second-hand from those who know it well – usually their parents.

In the same way we – as Christians – are raising our children as third culture kids.  Our true home and culture cannot be found here on earth.   Our children must learn our heritage from the scriptures through us in the hope they also chose to be a part of it someday.

about the artist...

My name is Randi and these are my bible crafts!

Long story short, I’ve had the privilege of spending the majority of my life overseas.  I have a love and appreciation for different cultures while still understanding the need we all have to be adopted as children into God’s one spiritual kingdom.  I know what it is to be  foreign.  I grew up a third culture kid – both in the earthly and spiritual sense – and am raising two of my own now.  I understand the struggle of trying to teach my own children who they really are and instill a love and longing for our God and His kingdom.

Like many Christian women, I’ve taught children’s bible classes of all shapes and sizes.  I wanted to create a resource that could be a “go-to” no matter the number, age, or ability of each child.   With this in mind each craft is designed to be be modified and used for multiple ages – even within the same class.  Each craft was also designed to reinforce ideas and accounts through play.  Kids learn better when they are having fun!  Let’s get this important information into their heads the way they learn so naturally – through play.

Many of us have taught with limited resources.  Crafting stores are sometimes a luxury.  This can be because of where in the world we find ourselves or unusual circumstances – most recently COVID.  I have found – almost everywhere and most of the time –  people have access to a printer, scissors, and glue.  All of my crafts are designed with these limitations in mind.

I have a background in Art Education.  My crafts are a blend of a love for making art with kids and a longing for knowledge of God through His word.  Children are pure potential and the future of our churches.  When this is in the forefront of our minds – the importance is clear.  I hope this website makes the crafting easy so you can put your efforts in the constant spiritual conversations and work when raising your third culture kid.
